Wave goodbye to Google…..Wave

I have used Google Wave.

  • I played with it for a few days.
  • I tested it with friends.
  • I couldn’t find a purpose for it.
  • I have not logged in to it in well over a month.
  • I do not miss it.

I am not sure what problem Google was trying to solve with Wave. Perhaps they invented a problem, which no one really has and then developed a solution for that invented problem. Either way I am declaring Google Wave useless for the majority of Internet users.

Email is still communication king and will most likely remain that way, until we all have 2 way video communicators built in to our watches and phones.

For the first time in almost 2 years, Windows Vista lost some market share for the month of September. According to Stat counter , Windows Vista was at its peak in August holding 23.36% of the market share. But last month ( September ) it dropped to 22.54% . Windows 7 on the other hand climbed from 1.69% to reach a record high of 1.79%.

While these aren’t exactly huge changes is either OS’s market share, It is the first time Windows Vista has lost market share in almost 2 years. It’s also Windows 7’s biggest jump since it was first made available to the public in January 2009 and it shows that Vista users are already keen on switching to Windows 7.

Chrome OS coming to netbooks as early as next month?

Chrome OS coming to netbooks as early as next month?

We’ve heard vague allusions to Chrome OS hitting devices in the near future, but with Google’s official stance that it won’t be ready until sometime late next year, well, we were a little skeptical. Now we’re hearing reports that Chinese netbook manufacturers are doing everything they can to get little Chrome lappies running a “preview edition” of the OS out onto the Asian markets by sometime next month, and we’re still skeptical — but intrigued. These devices from a company called Lemote run a MIPS-based CPU called the Loongson, which currently powers a custom flavor of Linux named, get this, Loonux. That OS has been receiving criticism for things other than its title, so it’s not surprising that the company is interested in trying something new, apparently even if that new thing is still half-baked and rather doughy in the middle. That these devices currently sell for under $200 is even more intriguing, but even if they do indeed get a bit of shine next month don’t expect to find one locally — at least not for that price.
